To award scholarships to assist young people in the City of Moonee Valley municipality. The grant money is to be used to achieve excellence in education, training, or in personal endeavors which will ultimately be beneficial to the Moonee Valley community at large.

What is the Foundation

The Foundation was formed as Essendon Anniversary Scholarship Trust Fund in 1986 to celebrate 125 years of local government. Essendon City Council supported the establishment of a trust to provide an annual ongoing award for local young adults. Public donations and council backing established the funds for the Scholarship Trust and since 1986 awards have been given to worthy individuals. Over the time the Moonee Valley Foundation has also conducted seminars on relevant topics and continued to raise funds.

The Foundation is managed by a Board of Directors consisting of local business and professional people.
